Danny Burden
Non-Executive Chairman, Investment Committee

Danny is the non-executive Chairman of the Investment Committee. He chairs weekly meetings, reviews, votes on and robustly challenges investment proposals to ensure rigour is applied when considering new investments and renewing existing investments. He also advises AGC on risk and operational processes within the business, ensuring the team is staying abreast of best practice.

Through his consulting firm, Nadeus Business Consulting, Danny provides a wide range of services and support to asset-based lenders and other advisors. For AGC, he has helped introduce more robust and structured credit underwriting processes for both the assessment of new opportunities and the monitoring of existing investments, and his experience in managing distressed and recovery situations has also been invaluable.

He is an experienced executive board director, having worked in commercial lending and asset-based finance businesses throughout his 35-year career. He has strong experience in structuring and managing investments in both developed and emerging markets.

He was on the Executive Boards of BNP Paribas Commercial Finance and Fortis Commercial Finance with a responsibility for teams within risk and operations. During his time at BNP Paribas, he wrote the rule book on cross-border receivables financing credit risk management and developed and successfully launched their asset-based lending product.

Earlier in his career he was heavily involved in supporting SME lending while working with Lombard NatWest and National Westminster Bank, both in a front line and credit risk underwriting capacity. More recently, he has returned to these roots in strategic and practical consulting for an SME fintech lender, helping them develop new, innovative and safe ways to lend by rethinking the credit playing field.

He graduated from the University of Manchester with a BSc (Hons) in Financial Services and is a Chartered Associate of the London Institute of Banking and Finance.
